“Poles know how to appreciate unusual and little-known places in Poland”, said Martyna Wojciechowska, the editor-in-chief of National Geographic Traveler, during a gala of The Seven Wonders of Poland.
At a trade fair in Poznań on October the 9th, representatives from the winning seven wonders met (The Church of Peace won third place). In the competition organised by NGT, more than six thousand people voted for our church. Not only were there people voting from Poland, but also from Sweden and the United States of America as well. One of Świdnica’s inhabitants even created a fanpage, where he encouraged social media users to vote for the church.
“We were very astonished by such a great support and kindness. This award is also a great promotion”, said Bożena Pytel of the Augsburg- Evangelical Parish from Świdnica.
