After several months the restoration works on the library cabinets in the parsonage of the Church of Peace have been finished. The pine furniture designed by architect Maciej Małachowicz was decorated using a laborious marbling technique.

Conservators applied seven or eight layers of paint and varnish, which created a pattern and aesthetic look that imitates marble after the venation process.

Marbling, popular in the Baroque style, produces a more representative character of the appliances and the interior in the newly built Lower Silesian Evangelical Institute. The appearance of the library cabinets is now also reflected in the altar and the pulpit of the Church of Peace, whose railings, door panels are similarly decorated.

We tried many variations in terms of colours before deciding on two basic colour tones (that is ochres and greys) says conservator Ryszard Wojtowicz.
