
It is 10 cm in diameter and made of cast iron filled with lead balls. Thanks to the grape-shot it also had more firepower – that is according to Dobieslaw Karst, Ph.D, who was referring to the ball that was found during archaeological excavations at the parish.
The cannonball is thought to originate from the Swidnica siege by the Prussian army, which began on New Year’s Eve in 1758.
