“I was here two years ago when the project just started – the progress is huge. The renovated objects look great. One can also see the huge amount of effort and care for the archive maintenance.”

These are the words of Terje Damman, the governor of the district Vest-Agder, who spoke at a press conference on Sunday November the 13th at the Church of Peace in Świdnica.

County Vest-Agder is one of two Norwegian partners in the project entitled “Peace Church in Swidnica – a UNESCO Listed Site. Reinstating the Splendour of a Lutheran Enclave”, which was to end in April 2016.

However, it will now take a year longer, until April 2017. The work completed so far has been done so well that the Norwegians have increased the budget: the value of the project has increased by 3,685,000 pln.

After the changes the total budget of the project, co-financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism,  amounts to 17,747,000 pln in total.

“I am convinced that this project will bring a fruitful cooperation in the future” assured governor Terje Damman.
