Urban fun with wool and yarns, games and workshops – these are some of the main attractions of the European Heritage Days on Peace Square. European Heritage Days is a unique social and educational project. Today it involves all EU countries as well as Turkey, Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Poland joined the program in 1993 and has been participating in it ever since. Every year in September the program provides free access to precious places and sites (to which access is often limited). Partners involved in the project also organize various events that promote local cultural heritage.
As part of the European Heritage Days on September 17th, we invite you to Peace Square. In the former Bell- Ringer’s House we will host the exhibition “Faith as a Heart of Bronze”. The exhibition is free of charge and we kindly offer to guide you should you wish.
We have prepared outdoor games and walks combined with a treasure hunt – activities that are suitable for all ages. The winners will be rewarded with gingerbread shaped in the image of the Church of Peace. The youngest participants will be able to listen to the fairy tale titled ” the Gingerbread for the King”. They will also have the possibility to ice their own gingerbread.
