Bożena Pytal has been awarded by Świdnickie Forum Kobiet (Świdnica’s Women’s Forum), in the category of art and culture. The jury honoured her for her effective promotion of one of the most valuable monuments in the Lower Silesia region – The Church of Peace.
“My goal is to make this place active – so it becomes a perpetual inspiration for tourists, artists, scientists, and obviously for the inhabitants of Swidnica”, says the winner.
For years now the Artistic Summer in Plac Pokoju (“Peace Square”) has been organised, an event comprising workshops on painting, sculpture, theatre and literature.
Bożena Pytel also initiated and created the theatre play under the title “This is not the way the a wise man travels”, which was played by actors of Teatr Stary from Kraków. As well as that, she is an initiator of the “Dolnośląski Szlak UNESCO” (“The Lower–Silesian UNESCO Trail”), not to mention other highly acknowledged initiatives. On top of that, she is currently involved in our biggest restoration project “Lutheran Enclave”.
The award was granted on the 27th of November in the theatre in Świdnica. This is not the first award for Bożena Pytel either: a few years ago, she was awarded the prize “Orły Powiau Świdnickiego” as well as the Cultural Award of the mayor.
