– These reasons were stated by the Association of Monument Conservators, who awarded the bishop Waldemar Pytel with the Golden Badge.
A day later, on the 10th of September, a group of specialists in the conservation of wooden objects visited the Church of Peace. Among the guests were visitors from Japan, South Korea and Mexico, who all participated in the three-day “Shatis 2015” conference organized in the Wroclaw University of Technology. The event, hosted in Poland for the first ever time, proved to be a great opportunity to learn about current research with regards to the protection of historic wooden buildings worldwide.
Many of these buildings have been lost forever because of earthquakes, fires or damage created by the people – said prof. Jerzy Jasieńko from the Wroclaw University of Technology.
Therefore there is no shortage of reasons why we should emphasize the need to widen the knowledge about their protection.
