“I am impressed with the progress of the renovation work that is being carried out in the Church of Peace. We would like to both congratulate and thank all those who care about this unique place”, said Monika Smoleń when visiting the Church on the 3rd of September 2015. These kind words from the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage can be found in written form in a chronicle.

The host of the facility, the Rev. Waldemar Pytel, guided Ms Monika Smoleń throughout the church, which has been undergoing a major renovation for several years. The funds from the Ministry of Culture, as well as from Norway, have allowed the renewal of crucial objects such as the pulpit, the altar and the large organs. Nonetheless, according to experts, more than 80 percent of the facility is still in an alarming state.

The Minister was amazed how much shiner the interior of the church is – during her last visit to the church several years ago she could only see greyish-green colours.

The Minister was interested in the current conservation state of the Church so much that she even extended her visit from one to two hours. She also met in the Church the President of Świdnica – Ms Beata Moskal- Słaniewska and finished her visit with media and press meeting.
