Chimerical, a brown curtain decorated with white flowers, has emerged from under the green oil paint. The surprise was found accidentally on the railing situated in the area for musicians.

This discovery is yet another that has been made so far by our conservators (thanks to whom two music lodges dating back to 1704 are being completely restored from their current poor condition).

All moving parts discovered had been dismantled for renovation. The majority were broken, cracked or damaged by fire, moisture and insects.

After having its secondary layers of paint removed and being disinfected, the curtain is to be supplemented with mortars, primers and silver as well as gold glazes.
