The Trombone Choir and the Orchestra of the Chemnitz will perform a concert on the 6th of June 2015 in the Church of Peace.

The rich concert programme will also include songs from the repertoire of authors from Świdnica, such as Rev. Benjamin Schmolck (1672-1737), who was a theologian, poet and pastor of this church, as well as Fritz Drohli ( 1905-1945), who was the local cantor.

Their songs have been re-discovered and prepared by Stephan Aderhold Ph.D, a Berlin-situated musicologist who has been studying the music scripts for several years (those found in the Church of Peace).

The concert will be lead by Ms Christine Hübler – a cantor, and Mr Günther Schmidt – a retired director of church music from Chemnitz who will play on the organs near the altar.

To hear what sound the Large Organs make we will have to wait one year more – it is in the spring of 2016 when the renovation plan carried out under the Norwegian funds will finish.

The concert starts at 6 pm and entry is free.
