The ongoing conservation works on the baroque facade of our large organs have already been in progress for 4 months. The instrument, which was built in 1693 by master Close from Brzeg, was later rebuilt by the company Schlag und Sone. Its present, refined form was shaped by master Zeitsius from Ząbkowice during the reconstruction of 1788.

The instrument consists of rich, plant shaped ornamental decorations with numerous gilded pipes; there are two Atlases supporting organ facade and 39 angels playing on the gilded instruments.

During the remodelling of the instrument, the colours of the organ case were heavily modified so that its style would differ greatly from the original. When removing its decorative elements (before the start of the maintenance work), on the back side of the Eye of Providence the signatures of Johann Ernst Rüffer (dated 1788) and Christian David Rüffer fecit, were found.

Also, during the removal it was confirmed that the two angels in the finial of the side towers of the organ case, which play the kettledrums, have a mechanism allowing one to imitate the actual playing.
