In February as part of the project “Peace Church in Swidnica – a UNESCO listed site. Reinstating the splendour of a Lutheran enclave “, we will once again host one of our two Norwegian Project partners.

Specialists from the county of Vest- Agder have already paid us a visit, having attended the opening conference of our project in November. This time, the pretext for the meeting will be three-days of lectures and workshops under the title – “Preserving Historic Wood and Paper – a Polish-Norwegian Interdisciplinary Discussion.”

On the 9th of February all lectures conducted by the researchers from the Department of Paper and Leather Restoration at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń will be open to the public.

We cordially invite anyone who would like to broaden their knowledge of historic archives, including the maintenance and preventive care of archive materials. On the second day of the programme, our guests will visit our archive, which is currently under construction. They will also hold a discussion about the best ways of storing and sharing such valuable archive materials.

On the 11th of February our guests will visit Krzeszow to see its library in the Abbey of Benedictine Nuns, where measures to preserve valuable archives have been recently carried out.

The next step in the cooperation will be a summer visit by our Polish paper and leather conservators in Kristiansand.
